We are happy to announce new additions to our program. The wall at Perry Center is by invitations only. The wall in Ivy City is awaiting the final approval and we hope to have it ready for Open Walls @ DCWEEK.

We love open spaces where people can create art and express themselves. One of those precious spots is Clarion Alley in San Francisco. This curated yet very free alley features awesome art. Here is more on the project on yelp and if you would like to get involved, follow them on facebook.

The newest Open Wall has been established in collaboration with The Friends of Garfield Park with permission from Department of Transportation with a goal to create a unique curatorial project and to maintain the space. Detailed information… The photos are from a mural workshop held in this space in Spring 2011.

Dave Adams shared some of his beautiful footage of Geoff Chang aka Toyz Are Us, a local b-boy and instructor at Words Beats and Life in Washington, DC. It was shot in September at the Edgewood Mural in Northeast Washington, D.C. with a Phantom HD and a set of Superspeed Zeiss Primes. Shots range from 300fps to 1000fps. Bobby Moore and LightUp of 3 Pyramids Collective visited Sherman Wall on a cold Sunday, when the sun came up for a few hours only. They managed to paint a large section of the wall.

This project aims to bring new and fresh public art to our neighborhoods while creating open expression areas available to all artists. The official unveiling of Open Walls project is planned for March 26, 2011.
