I visited Chor Boogie last week in San Francisco where he lives and creates. We spent five days walking through the city, checking it out, talking about art and our work. When visiting SF, make sure to stay in Hotel des Arts room 310. That suite is painted by Chor and Maya Hayuk. Being enveloped by Chor’s painting is probably the closest you can get to see what’s in Chor’s head… intense color therapy.

One day, as we walked through the newly developed area, the conversation quickly turned to colors of the buildings. A simple question “How do these colors make you feel?” was answered: “Like in a hospital, prison or some kind of factory…” Do the colors have the power to control our feelings and behavior? Absolutely and the colors in Chor’s paintings heal. Physically and emotionally. The road to freedom is polychromatic.

And we painted for the rest of the evening…
