We have been working long hours for the last couple of weeks to bring you this exciting D.C. Weekend. On Saturday, DECOY is opening her solo show titled “D’s Nails” and CON will lead a two-day graffiti workshop.

D’s Nails open this Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 at 7pm in The Fridge DC, 516 8th Street SE in rear alley.
DC-based street artist and educator DECOY is turning The Fridge into a nail salon during November for D’s Nails, an exhibit with all new work. DECOY will be doing custom manicures on Saturday’s during the show and the salon walls will be filled with portraits of pivotal people and symbolic figures from DECOY’s life that represent change and transformation. Outside, there will be a series of over-sized nail polish bottles filled with acrylic paint. Everyone is invited to help create a mural on the facade of the gallery. Get a preview here…

On Saturday, 11/3/2012, 3-5pm in Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, 545 7th Street SE, Washington, DC
Instructor: CON (Tim Conlon)
Workshop: Graffiti Letters
The instructor, an experienced graffiti artist will lead the discussion about the history and tradition of graffiti and presentation of styles from around the world. You will learn about color schemes, letter concepts and perspective while you work on your own sketches, developing your own style. Materials: Markers, pencils, paper. Suggested donation: $20
On Sunday, 11/4/2012, 10am-12noon in The Fridge, 516 8th Street SE, rear alley, Washington, DC
CON will continue the workshop from the previous day by explaining and presenting the same principles using spray paint on an outdoor wall. Materials: Spray paint. Suggested donation: $20
