The crime is giving this youth 8 years for unlawfully spraypainting when a scrub brush and a pail would’ve been a better sentence. In Philadelphia, taggers who’ve been caught get the opportunity to give back by redirecting their behavior into something more positive, something that benefits a community. People, please speak out against this terrible travesty.

this is ludicrous…..please stop this insanity…..and send this young man to place where he can work off that energy…..and become a vital part of society instead of placing him in general population with murderers and rapists……what is wrong with our judicial system….????…..UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!

The system is broken if the best we can do is incarcerate a nineteen year old for a non violent offense and pat ourselves on the back. Then he’s charged five thousand dollars in restitution for his crime. If he had that kind of money he would have had a better lawyer I suppose. When he gets out of prison he’s going to be an ex con trying to get employment with a five thousand dollar bill over his head (that he can’t pay) what is the point?. Something needs to change.

I’m just shocked he wasn’t put on death row. Texas is in the dark ages.
