We are working with a group of excellent young artists this summer. Together, we have been fabricating and painting the hands. Come to the event at UDC tonight to meet them and see the latest sculptures.
Give Me a Vote campaign will be present at the event: A Conversation with the Leading Candidates for Mayor and Council Chair on Thursday, July 29, 2010. The forum will take place at Auditorium, Building 46 of University of the District of Columbia on 4200 Connecticut Ave, NW from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM.
Come participate in this Conversation with the Leading Candidates for Mayor and Council Chair and meet the young artists who have been working with Give Me a Vote project. They will present their art on the sculptures they have fabricated this summer.

Albus Cavus artists and students have been working out of The Freezer, a space provided to us by Alex Gold of The Fridge. In the recent months we have completed a huge amount of work. There is a new showroom on H Street in DC. It is called Temporium and its facade has been painted by our summer interns Sebi and Chuk working with Peter K. It will feature DC’s fashion designers showing their wares. The opening party is on Friday July 23rd, 6 to 10pm. It will be open from July 23 to August 15 and it is located in the former R.L. Christian Library at 1300 H Street, NE.

Albus Cavus has partnered with Youth for Human Rights and Rock Creek Academy to educate young people about their own rights. The students are going through all 300 rights in discussions and creative sessions when they are encouraged to create their own imagery, learn how to cut stencils and create their own t-shirts.

Chanel Compton is leading a group of young people in Perry School’s summer program. The goal is to teach the students a variety of art techniques and coordinate them in creation of mural that will be installed in the neighborhood’s homeless shelter. The artwork is about building and fragility of our lives. The program runs through the entire summer.

We have just received this video from Above, who spent the last 12 days hanging his newly themed “Movie star arrow mobiles” project in Hollywood. There were 50 of each male and female (100 arrows hung total) movie stars as the topic and face of each arrow mobile. This is the first city of his 4-month long summer tour around the USA and Europe. The next cities include New York City, Paris. London, San Francisco, and Berlin.
